Shipping policy
Your perfumes leave from Italy, in a tracked parcel, and here we tell you exactly what you will pay and what you will receive. No small print: a table, your country, your amount. And when a destination does not qualify for any free delivery, we say so in black and white rather than letting you discover it at checkout.
All orders are prepared and shipped from a warehouse located in Barletta, Italy.
We ship:
- to mainland France and to five French overseas destinations: Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mayotte, Réunion and Saint-Martin;
- within the European Union: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Spain (peninsula and islands), Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal (mainland and islands), Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Czechia;
- in Europe outside the European Union: Norway, the United Kingdom, Switzerland;
- internationally: Australia, Canada, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore.
If your country does not appear at checkout, it means we do not serve it yet. Write to us: we will tell you whether a solution exists.

Three useful clarifications:
- Amounts are expressed in euros. For the United Kingdom, Poland, Czechia, Switzerland, Sweden and Norway, they are billed in the market's currency (GBP, PLN, CZK, CHF, SEK, NOK) at their countervalue: the exact amount displayed at checkout may therefore vary slightly.
- The free-delivery threshold is assessed on the value of the products, after any discounts have been deducted, as it appears in your cart before delivery charges.
- Express delivery, where it exists, speeds up the transit, not the preparation, and never becomes free above any threshold.
2. Destinations with no free delivery
No free-delivery threshold applies to the following destinations, whatever the amount of your order:
- Ireland; charges there decrease in steps (25 €, then 20 €, then 15 €) but never drop to zero;
- overseas France — Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mayotte, Réunion, Saint-Martin; charges there decrease in steps (24,90 €, then 12,90 €, then 5,90 €) but never drop to zero;
- Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Malta and Slovenia, where delivery is a flat 22 €;
- all international destinations outside Europe, where delivery is a flat 29 €.
The delivery conditions applicable to your order are those set out on this page.
3. Preparation and delivery times
5.1 Preparing your order
Your order is prepared in our Barletta warehouse: preparation time of 24 hours. Orders placed on a weekend or public holiday are prepared on the next working day.
3.2 Transit
Once the parcel has been handed over to the carrier, allow:
- 3 to 6 working days.
These durations are transit estimates, given in good faith. They do not include delays attributable to customs checks, weather conditions or the carrier's peak periods.
3.3 The maximum time limit, however, is set by law
In the absence of any stated or agreed date, article L. 216-1 du code de la consommation (French Consumer Code) requires us to deliver to you without undue delay and no later than thirty (30) days after the conclusion of the contract. This ceiling applies as of right, whatever your destination.
3.4 If we are late
Part I of article L. 216-6 du code de la consommation (French Consumer Code) gives you two options as soon as the announced date — or, failing that, the thirty-day period — has passed:
- suspend payment of all or part of the price, by informing us in writing;
- direct us in writing (an e-mail to help@olfazeta.fr is enough) to deliver within a reasonable additional period, and then, if we fail to do so, terminate the contract by the same means. The contract is then terminated upon receipt of your notification, unless we have delivered in the meantime.
You may terminate the contract immediately, without prior formal notice, if we refuse to deliver or if the delivery date was an essential condition of your order (Part II of article L. 216-6).
In the event of termination, article L. 216-7 of the same code requires us to refund you all sums paid, no later than fourteen (14) days after the date on which the contract was terminated.
4. Tracking your parcel
All our shipments are tracked, without exception and at no extra charge. As soon as the parcel is handed over to the carrier, you receive a shipping confirmation e-mail containing your tracking number and the link to check it. Depending on your destination, your parcel is entrusted to Colissimo, Mondial Relay, Chronopost, GLS, DPD, Royal Mail, PostNL, CTT, CTT Express, Swiss Post or another local carrier.
The tracking may stay silent for the first twenty-four hours, and again when the parcel crosses from one country to another: this is normal. If you cannot find this e-mail, check your spam folder, then write to us: we will send you the number again.
5. Parcel delayed, lost, damaged or incomplete
5.1 The parcel travels at our risk, not yours
This is the most important point on this page. In accordance with article L. 216-2 du code de la consommation (French Consumer Code), the risks of loss and damage are transferred to you only when you take physical possession of the parcel — or when a third party you have designated, other than the carrier we offer you, takes physical possession of it.
In other words:
- as long as the parcel is not in your hands, any loss or breakage is on us;
- you do not have to take action against the carrier: that is our business, not yours;
- failing to note reservations on delivery does not make you lose any right. Pointing out the problem to the delivery person and keeping the packaging help us build the case, but nothing is conditional on them.
By way of exception, when you entrust delivery to a carrier that you have chosen yourself and that we do not offer, the risks are transferred to you as soon as the goods are handed over to that carrier (article L. 216-3 du code de la consommation, French Consumer Code).
5.2 What you do, in practice
One single address for all these cases: help@olfazeta.fr, with your order number.
- Parcel delayed or tracking frozen. If the tracking has not moved for 10 days, write to us: we open an enquiry with the carrier and keep you informed.
- Parcel declared lost. We offer you, at your choice, a re-shipment at our expense or a full refund of your order, delivery charges included.
- Parcel damaged, broken bottle, incomplete order. Send us a few photos of the parcel, its padding and the product. We re-ship the missing or damaged item, or refund it. No deadline or formality conditions this right; we simply ask you to write to us as soon as possible, so the case moves quickly.
6. Customs and import taxes
Our parcels leave from the Italian warehouse. Depending on the destination, their arrival may give rise to an import tax and, depending on the carrier, to handling or customs presentation fees. The rules differ from one destination to another: here is the one that applies to yours.
United Kingdom: nothing to pay on delivery
British taxes and duties are paid upstream, whatever the amount of your order. The parcel is handed to you without any sum being claimed from you: no VAT, no customs duties, no carrier handling fees.
Switzerland: at our expense from 60 CHF
From 60 CHF of total paid, Swiss import VAT and the carrier's customs clearance fees are at our expense. If the carrier nevertheless asks you to pay on delivery of the parcel, pay it and send us the receipt: we will refund you in full.
Below 60 CHF of total paid, delivery included, these sums are at your expense. In practice, you have nothing to pay: Swiss VAT (8.1%) is not collected as long as its amount remains below 5 francs, and carriers then charge no handling fee. This practice is a matter for the Swiss administration and the carriers; it does not constitute a commitment on our part.
Perfumes and cosmetics bear no customs duty in Switzerland: only import VAT comes into play.
Norway and international destinations
Australia, Canada, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore: these orders leave the customs territory of the European Union and are taxed on arrival under local regulations — customs duties, import VAT and, depending on the carrier, handling or customs presentation fees.
- These sums are included neither in the price of the products nor in the delivery charges you pay on the store.
- They are payable by the recipient and are generally claimed by the carrier before the parcel is handed over.
- Their amount is governed by the regulations of the destination country, over which we have no control. Check with your customs authorities before ordering.
In Norway, there is no exemption threshold: Norwegian VAT of 25% is due from the first krone, whatever the amount of the order, and the carrier adds its customs clearance fees.
If you refuse to pay these sums, customs sends the parcel back or destroys it; we then refund you the price of the products actually returned to us. This has no effect on your right of withdrawal, which is exercised under the conditions of our return policy.
French overseas territories
Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mayotte, Réunion and Saint-Martin belong to the customs territory of the European Union, but not to its fiscal territory. Our shipments there bear no customs duty; local taxes are, however, collected on arrival. For an order placed on the store, the exemption stops at 22 euros: above that amount, taxation is the rule.
- Guadeloupe, Martinique, Réunion: dock dues ("octroi de mer"), supplemented where applicable by regional dock dues, and local VAT (8.5% at the standard rate, 2.1% at the reduced rate).
- Mayotte: dock dues, supplemented where applicable by regional dock dues. VAT is provisionally not applicable there.
- Saint-Martin: neither import VAT nor dock dues. Taxes specific to the collectivity may apply.
These taxes are calculated on the value of the products plus transport and insurance costs. The carrier adds its handling fees when taxes are due. The whole is payable by the recipient.
Spanish and Portuguese islands
Balearic Islands, Azores, Madeira: these destinations are part of the fiscal territory of the European Union. Delivery there proceeds as in mainland Spain or Portugal: no customs formalities, no tax on arrival.
Canary Islands: outside the fiscal territory of the European Union, but inside its customs territory — no customs duty is due. The local tax (IGIC) does not apply to shipments worth less than 150 euros; above that, it is collected on arrival. The carrier may also charge management fees for the customs formalities.
7. Wrong address, absence on delivery, return to sender
7.1 Check your address
A forgotten street number, a missing floor, an absent access code: these are the leading causes of lost parcels. Re-read your address before confirming, and write to us immediately if you spot a mistake: we correct it as long as the parcel has not left.
7.2 Absence when the delivery person calls
Depending on the carrier and the country, the parcel is presented again, dropped off at a pick-up point or held for a limited period. The exact arrangements appear on the delivery notice and in your tracking.
7.3 Parcel returned to us
When a parcel comes back to us — incomplete address, recipient not identified, parcel not collected within the holding period —, we contact you and offer you:
- a re-shipment to the corrected address. The costs of a new shipment made necessary by a wrong or incomplete address may be charged to you, after prior information and acceptance on your part.
- or a refund of the products returned.
If the return results from a mistake on our part or a failure by the carrier, the re-shipment is of course at our expense.
8. Transport restrictions
Perfumes contain alcohol and are, as such, subject to specific transport regulations. Certain destinations, certain shipping methods or certain quantities may therefore be restricted.
If an order cannot be shipped for this reason, we notify you and refund you in full.
9. Returns, refunds and terms and conditions
This page deals only with shipping. To change your mind, send an item back or obtain a refund, see our return and refund policy; for the complete contractual framework, our terms and conditions of sale. In the event of a discrepancy between this page and the terms and conditions on a point of law, the terms and conditions prevail.
10. A question, a complaint
Write to us at help@olfazeta.fr quoting your order number: it is the fastest route, and a human reply will reach you. Our online assistant also answers common questions, at any hour.
If you live in another Member State of the European Union, in Norway or in Iceland, the European Consumer Centre France (europe-consommateurs.eu) informs and assists you free of charge with cross-border disputes.
